It was a meeting of two Hermiones when Emma Watson went to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on stage. She met Noma Dumezweni – who plays the character as an adult – which she said “was like meeting my older self”. She added: “Having seen it I felt more connected to Hermione and the stories than I have since Deathly Hallows came out, which was such a gift.”

Guitarist Dave Gilmour performed at the ancient Roman amphitheatre in Pompeii – 45 years after playing there with Pink Floyd and becoming the first artist to perform at the venue with an audience in attendance.
