Facebook and WhatsApp group Admins could go to jail for offensive posts in India

facebook and whatsapp group admin

According to a joint order issued by the district magistrate of Varanasi and the city’s police chief, offensive posts such as rumours or fake new circulated through WhatsApp or Facebook groups can land the group admin in jail.

Varanasi DM Yogeshwar Ram Mishra and SP Nitin Tiwari recently issued  a joint order that said an FIR (first investigation report) can be filed against a group administrator if factually incorrect, rumour or misleading information is circulated on his/her social media group.

The order partly reads, “there are several groups on social media which are named on news groups and also groups with other names which are propagating news and information which is not authentic. These are being forwarded without cross-checking”.

The order stated social media group administrators should be ready to bear the responsibility and ownership of the groups. The administrator must include only those members who are personally known to him or her. If any statement is made by a group member which is fake, can cause religious disharmony, or rumour, the group admin must deny it on the group and remove the member from the group.

“In the event of inaction from the group admin, he or she will be considered guilty and action will be taken against the group admin,” the order stated.

Such a post must also be reported to the nearest police station so that action can be taken against the member under the law.  A case under cyber crime law, Information Technology Act and Indian Penal Code will be filed in case of violation of these guidelines. The order also made it clear that orders of Supreme Court and various high courts will be considered while initiating action.  “While freedom of expression on social media is important, it also comes with a responsibility,” the order said.

Venus Williams hints that Serena is expecting a baby girl and wants her niece to be named after her

Serena Williams

Serena Williams is expecting a baby girl according to excitable aunty Venus who might have just let it slip.

The proud aunty-to-be who is still breaking records in the absence of her sister Serena, referred to the bun in the oven as a ‘she’ at the 2017 French Open.

In an interview at the sports event after beating Kurumi Nara on Wednesday, the Mail Online reported that the 36-year-old said: ‘I want to be known as the favourite aunt.’

We’re like baby V, baby Lyn, baby Esher, we all want the baby to be named after us.’

Meanwhile, pregnant Serena who was seen cheering and supporting her sister in the audience during the game has previously admitted that she and her partner refer to their child as ‘baby’ as they want the gender to be a surprise. So if that’s the case, maybe aunty Venus just has X-ray vision?

The tennis champion who is engaged to Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, accidentally announced her pregnancy through Snapchat and has since been sharing sweet pics and videos.

Back in April she posted a cute letter to her unborn child in an Instagram post, saying: ‘I can’t wait for you to join the players box next year. But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you….’

Serena’s not the only one in her friendship circle that’s expecting, she’s also pregnant with Beyonce and the pair were seen enjoying each other’s company at Queen Bey’s African-themed push party a few weeks ago.

Ariana Grande will return to Manchester with ex-military security squad

Ariana Grande will reportedly return to Manchester with ‘a top of the line security squad’ made up of ex-military personnel.

The 23-year-old singer was caught up in the terrifying terror attack that rocked the Manchester Arena on Monday May 22 when a suicide bomber targeted the foyer as Grande’s concert ended; 22 people have died.

Following the attack Grande postponed the rest of her European tour, and later revealed she would hold a benefit concert which would also include performances from Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Take That, Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Usher, Katy Perry and Niall Horan.

However the young singer was left understandably shaken by the ordeal, and a source close to the singer has admitted that ‘Ariana’s new security team consists of ex-military and is said to be the best in the business’.

Speaking to Radar Online they added: ‘She is going to have 24-hour surveillance from now on, no matter what the cost is.’

The One Love Manchester Benefit Concert will take place at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground on Sunday June 4 to raise money for the victims of the Manchester terror attack and their families; proceeds will go to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, which was set up by the Manchester City Council in partnership with the British Red Cross to aid the families of the victims, and those who were at the concert on May 22 will get their tickets for free.

According to People magazine the singer, 23, was ‘absolutely crushed and devastated’ by the incident.

A source said: ‘It’s so, so sad. She loves her fans and is absolutely crushed and devastated as you can imagine. She can’t believe this happened. She just wants to be with her family and loved ones right now.’

The Mountain-Moving God – Dr. Paul Enenche

Dunamis' Daily Devotional

Today’s Seed of Destiny Daily Devotional is written by Dr. Paul Enenche

Topic: The Mountain-Moving God

Today: Thursday June 1, 2017
Scripture: Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Zechariah 4:7.
Thought For The Day: Mountains are movable and surmountable.
One of the greatest obstacles of destiny before a child of God is a mountain. Physically, a person cannot move forward in life when confronted with a mountain. When a person is confronted with a spiritual mountain, his destiny is stagnated. Mountains limit destinies.
Now, what are Mountains?
Mountains are age-long strongholds; they are strongholds that have lasted for a very long time around a person.
In the physical, we see mountains as established strongholds that have been in place for generations. In all probability, they may have existed for many generations before being noticed or its effects felt.
In the spiritual, mountains can be likened to generational spells, curses, issues and setbacks that have lasted for generations.
You may be facing ancestral or generational spells and curses which have limited your destiny; you may be struggling in life, trying all you can to succeed, yet have no result to show for it. This is a typical manifestation of the mountain.
Beloved, the good news is, there is a mountain-moving God. Mountains are movable and surmountable by the power of God. Therefore, connect with God who has the power to move any mountain of life.

Remember this: Mountains are movable and surmountable.
1. Identify any spiritual mountain in your life.
2. Connect with the mountain-moving Power of God.
Prayer: O LORD, break every limiting yoke, curse and spell that has stagnated my life and destiny in Jesus’ Name.
Amazing Fact: The average person has 10,000 taste buds, with 2,000 of those under the tongue, inside the cheeks, and on the roof of the mouth.

TOPIC: The Great Escape

TODAY: Thursday June 1, 2017
KEY VERSE:Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6
Once you start stepping out in faith and walking in the spirit, the devil will see to it that you have ample opportunity to fall flat on your spiritual face. He’ll try to get you into some jams where there appears to be no way out.
But take it from me as one who’s been there, if you’ll look to God and trust His wisdom instead of your own, He’ll always show you a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Not only that, but He’ll do it in such a way that He’ll get the glory and you’ll have the last laugh on the devil.
I remember one particular Wednesday night in Wichita Falls, Texas, where I was faced with just such a situation. I was preaching on the reality of the righteousness of God, and the anointing was really strong. Just as my message reached its climactic moment, a woman in the audience suddenly burst forth in tongues. I told her to stop three times, but she only continued to grow louder. By the time she hushed, the anointing had gone and the message was forgotten. So I looked at that woman sternly and began to correct her for being out of order.
Then a man sitting next to her spoke up and said, “Brother Copeland, she is stone deaf. She can’t hear a word you’re saying.”
At that point, I had no idea what to do. Not only had my sermon been shattered, but the whole congregation was mad at me for getting onto that poor deaf woman. (I found out later the man next to her used her to disrupt services and run preachers out of town. When the service reached a high point, he’d punch her and tell her it was her turn to prophesy.)
So, I just stopped a moment and got quiet and waited for the Lord to tell me what to do. Sure enough, He told me. He said, Call her up and lay hands on her and I’ll open her ears.
Talk about a turnaround! When God healed that woman’s ears, He turned that disaster into one of the most powerfully anointed meetings I’d ever had. Everyone was blessed!
Next time the devil tries to back you in a corner, get quiet. Ask God to show you the way of escape. He’ll bring you out in victory every time.
Scripture Reading: Acts 14:8-22

JUST IN: EU and China rebuff Trump on climate

EU and China rebuff Trump on climate

Chinese and EU leaders are to agree a joint statement on the Paris climate agreement saying it is “an imperative more important than ever”.

A draft of the document, seen by the BBC, stresses the “highest political commitment” to implement the deal.

It will be widely seen as a rebuff to the US, as President Trump prepares to announce on Thursday if the US is withdrawing from the accord.

The joint statement will be published on Friday after a summit in Brussels.

For more than a year, Chinese and EU officials have been working behind the scenes to agree a joint statement on climate change and clean energy.

The document highlights the dangers posed by rising temperatures, “as a national security issue and multiplying factor of social and political fragility,” while pointing out that the transition to clean energy creates jobs and economic growth.

“The EU and China consider the Paris agreement as an historic achievement further accelerating the irreversible global low greenhouse gas emission and climate resilient development,” the draft document says.

“The Paris Agreement is proof that with shared political will and mutual trust, multilateralism can succeed in building fair and effective solutions to the most critical global problems of our time. The EU and China underline their highest political commitment to the effective implementation of the Paris Agreement in all its aspects.”

Both sides say they will step up action to and “forge ahead with further policies and measures” to implement their national plans on cutting carbon. Significantly, both the EU and China agree that they will outline their long term low carbon strategies by 2020.
